Harris Tweed half-check collars – charcoal herringbone
These collars slip over the head and should be fairly loose on the neck allowing you to put at least two fingers comfortably between it and your dog’s neck. This half check collar will allow you to ‘check’ your dog when walking. They are a safe alternative to the choke because it applies gentle pressure without choking or pinching. They are meant to be worn high on the neck, behind the ears and are especially safe and effective when working with dogs that pull. The control ring pulls the sides of the collar together but is limited for the dog’s safety. They have a nylon webbing on the inside, making them strong and adjustable to suit your pet.
Please measure your dog’s head, not the neck for the correct size. The one in the picture is a large collar, modeled by my own dog. She is a Staffordshire bull terrier crossed with an American bulldog; bigger than the average Staffordshire bull terrier.
When measuring your dog’s head, please measure the widest part so that the collar slips over easily but not too tight:
Maximum inside measurement:
Small: 30.5cm (12”) x1.5cm (1/2”): Chain size is 120mm x 2mm
Med: 35.5cm (14”) x 2cm (3/4″) – includes the chain: Chain size is 120mm 2.5mm
Med/large: 40.5cm (16”) x 2.5cm (1″)- includes the chain: Chain size is 130mm x 3mm
Large: 46cm (18”) x 2.5cm (1″)- includes the chain: Chain size is 150mm x 4mm
Large/XLarge: 61cm (24”) x 2.5cm (1″)- includes the chain: Chain size is 150mm x 4mm
XLarge: 73.5cm (29”) x 2.5cm (1″)- includes the chain: Chain size is 150mm x 4mm
